Here's the Crazy Horse Monument. It's not even close to done yet, but the original sculptor and his family have been working on it for years and years. He died years ago, but his wife and seven of his ten children are continuing his work. Eventually you'll be able to see Crazy Horse's hair and the horse he's riding on. Kinda strange that they'd decimate an entire mountain with continuous blasts of dynamite, disturbing all of the wildlife, to create a monument. Whatever happened to good ole marble, like Rodin used?

This one is my dad and me at Mount Rushmore. What an awesome day for a ride. The roads were amazing. So was this. Would you believe that Thomas Jefferson, immediately to Washington's left, was started on Washington's right. They got much of his face finished before Borglum (the artist) ran into a major fissure in the rock, and so in 1934 they blasted his face right off the mountain and moved it over to Washington's left, where it is now.

Oh, by the way, the campground is about empty now since the rally ended today (or yesterday?) and my dad and Mark and I were able to get cabins. YAY!!! don't like tents in high winds.

Very cool! I love the picture of you and your dad in front of Mount Rushmore. I am glad you guys are having such a good time and that Uncle Mark kept you away from the buffalo (that could have been a bad end to your trip)!!! It sucks you are having to do all this school work while you are there but you seem to be managing your time well, don’t forget to sleep too! Tell Uncle Mark I said hi, be safe and have fun!!! Love you guys!
